SBMF SBMF - Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship Matthew 4:19

Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship

News Updated March 4, 2007

I pray that you had a Purim Tov (Good Purim).

Shalom to all.   “The grace of the Adonai Yeshua Ha'Mashiach, and the love of Elohim, and the fellowship of the Ruach HaKodesh, be with you all.”

Please send us news, praises reports and prayer requests from your ministries.

Please forgive me for missing the February issue of our SBMF news.  Ezekiel's wheels were on the move and we were hanging on for the ride.  G-d is so good.

Good News - Encampment is Coming in June:

The L-rd spoke further to Moses, saying, "Make yourself two trumpets of silver, of hammered work you shall make them; and you shall use them for summoning the congregation and for having the camps set out. "When both are blown, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the doorway of the tent of meeting. "Yet if only one is blown, then the leaders, the heads of the divisions of Israel, shall assemble before you. "But when you blow an alarm, the camps that are pitched on the east side shall set out. "When you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that are pitched on the south side shall set out; an alarm is to be blown for them to set out. "When convening the assembly, however, you shall blow without sounding an alarm. [Numbers 10:1-7]

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)  And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.  [Hebrews 10:23-25  KJV]

We pray that all is well with you.  G-d is so good.  Be healthy, be safe, be blessed, be found in Yeshua Ha'Mashiach.

Ministry & Outreach News From Ruth, Our Sister Missionary In Russia

Our vision is to see Russian Jews gathered into Messianic congregations being a light to the nations.

Praises:

1.  My heart is so overwhelmed with the many ways that God has answered prayers this week that I hardly know where to begin.  I guess we could begin with a great big Hallelujah!

2.  You have been praying long and hard for the Passover Seders which are coming up very soon.  My biggest concern has been locations to have the seders.  On Thursday one of my colleagues called to say that he had visited a place that he think would work very well for our larger seder.  It only holds 80 people and we had hoped to have a place for 100 but I think we can live with that.  It is right in the center of the city with a view of the Kremlin.  I am so excited about the way that God has provided this place for us.  Please keep praying as the other details come together.

3.  On Thursday evening, March 1st, I had an opportunity to hear the group New Jerusalem in concert.  They are a Russian speaking Christian band who plays a lot of Jewish music as well as contemporary Christian music.  One of my Russian friends is a personal friend of the band and introduced me to them.  They have agreed to come to Moscow in summer of 08 to help me to do a concert that would be an outreach to the Jewish community here.  This is a huge undertaking for me in every way but I really feel like God is opening up this opportunity.  Please pray for me and for the group as we begin to make plans to reach the younger generation of Russian Jews.

4.  I survived my busy week of meetings and was blessed to be able to spend time with my colleagues.  We watched two video taped messages on living a balanced life and I found both of them very helpful  Now pray that I will put what I heard into practice.

5.  This week at our Bible study just two people came-Elena who is into Hare Krishna and Kuchkar who is a Muslim background believer.  During our tea time after the study Kuchkar shared much about his life and how he came to faith.  Elena listened carefully and soaked it all in. Praise God.  Please continue to pray for her and the others who come to the Bible study to also come to faith.

6.  On Sunday I went shopping at a market that sells Russian souvenirs and American DVDs.  I wanted to buy the DVD One Night with the King to show to my English club for Purim this week.  The film is based on the book of Esther, which is what Purim celebrates.  As I was looking through all the DVDs (which are in no order at all) I asked the vendor if he had one film. He said he didn’t but had the film One Night with the King.  I was so excited that God had provided me with this film even when my memory failed me.  What a blessing to know that God never forgets anything.

7.  I have been overwhelmed with the response that I have received from people who are interested in coming to help with the Feast of Tabernacles celebrations in the Fall. I don’t think that all who have shown an interest will be able to come but it was still very encouraging to see the interest there. Please pray that God will make it clear to those that He is calling to come and that He will open up all the doors to their coming.

Prayer Requests:

1.  This is the week of holidays here in Russia and around the Jewish world.  This evening, Saturday, March 3, is Purim, the Jewish holiday when the Jews celebrate God’s salvation of them as a nation as recounted in the Book of Esther.  It is a very joyful holiday.  Children dress in costumes, the book of Esther is read in the synagogues and there are lots of parties to celebrate the holiday.  Tonight our English club is going to discuss the history and traditions of Purim and next week we are going to put on a Purim play (also a Jewish tradition for Purim).  Please pray that many of our club members, especially the Jewish ones, will come to this celebration. Please pray that as Jews all over the world celebrate Purim that they will recognize that God not only saved the Jews from physical death but that He has also saved them from spiritual death through His Son, the Messiah.

2.  In Russia, next Thursday, March 8th is International Women’s Day.  This is the Russian equivalent of Mother’s Day except that all women are honored, not just mothers.  Florist shops and candy stores do great business on this holiday and best of all everyone has a day off of work.  I am going to invite my English club members to come over to my house on Women’s Day to participate in our weekly Bible study and to watch the film One Night with the King.  Please pray that many people will come to one or both of these activities and that it will be a good time of getting to know them better.

3.  This coming week I don’t have as many meetings, etc as I did this week so please pray that I would make good use of my time to get many administrative matters completed.

4.  Today I am going to meet again with the colleagues who are helping me to plan the Passover seders.  It looks like we have a great location for one of the seders, which is a huge answer to prayer. One of my colleagues was looking at two others and I hope to find out today if we will be able to use one of them.  Bit by bit, things are coming together but there is still much to do so please continue to hold us up in prayer as we plan.  The volunteers who are coming from the States are preparing things on their end so please continue to lift up Gayla, Susan and Jack as well.

5.  Last month the Russian government passed a law that makes registration of visas for foreigners much more complicated than before (and it wasn’t easy before). Please pray that this new law would be enforced in a way that it was intended and would not be disruptive to those of us who are living and working here legally.

6.  Please continue to pray that God will add Americans and Russians to my team. There are a few people considering some job requests that I have written.  Please pray that if God wants them to come and serve here in Moscow long term that God will clearly show them and me.

May God give you many reasons to praise Him as you serve Him this week.  Thank you so much for your vital role on the Jews of Russia team.  I love and appreciate you very much.

In the Lamb, from our dear sister Ruth in Russia

Ministry Report From: Pastor Brian Hawkins at Adat Derech Kol Ha'Mashiach

We had an outreach the last week of Janyuary and the first week of February.  The outreach is to the Phenix City area and we saw 125 people come to know the L-rd. Praise G-d!

We had a special guest speaker on March 2nd and had another day of outreach on the 3rd.

I just wanted to write you and give you some wonderful things going on here in the Phenix City Area.  Baruch ha’Shem!  We have had at least 7 people received the Lord in the last month and a half. We also started a discipleship training program and we have 18 people signed up wanting to grow in their faith.

We have 4 seders scheduled 3 in the Columbus/Phenix City Area and 1 in Warner Robins Ga. We are also going to be speaking in 3 Methodist, a Catholic Church and a Non-Denominational Church. The Lord is giving us an opportunity to speak and to educate our churches in the area. Please continue to pray for the Southern Baptist Churches in the area to be open to it. We really want some more opportunities with them also.

April the 19th we are having a night to honor Israel at a local Baptist Church where they have invited our congregation to host a Shabbat service in their church. So much is going on here.

I am also in conversation with the missions committee at Golden Acres Baptist Church where we hold our services regarding sponsorship. Please be in prayer that I will have an opportunity to speak with the Senior Pastor there. Other than that we are getting ready for our big blow out Purim service on Friday. We are excited about what G-d is doing in the area.

Shalom b'Shem Yeshua,

Adat Derech Kol Ha'Mashiach

Ministry & Outreach News from Hal and Esther Garrett,  First Baptist Church Hardy, Cherokee Village, AR.

A brief summary of Esther and my ministry and work.

Labor day weekend of 2005, we were commissioned as North American Mission Board missionaries to serve as Mission Service Corps consultants for northeast Arkansas.

We have twelve associations and 462 churches that we work with to educate and motivate their membership to be on mission for G-d.  We give a power point presentation and a scripture challenge on three or four Sundays each month.  We try to schedule or trips on Sunday so we can be in two churches.  We also speak at mission rallies, WMU, and Baptist men groups.  This month we have only been in seven churches other than our home church.  Since commissioned, we have visited over ninety different churches.

We have a program about the tabernacle based on our service with the International Mission Board in Israel as volunteers.  We have been privileged to make many presentations of this work in churches all over Tennessee and Arkansas in addition to presentations in Florida and Texas.

We are blessed to share G-d's plan of salvation thru His son Yeshua.  We challenge Jews and Christians alike to read the Torah and Tanach because in the scriptures the plan for salvation is there!

In His service and love

Hal and Esther Garrett

International Phone Number: To Come Soon

Plans for the meetings:

We will again look into childcare for the times that we have meetings.  There may be some of you who would like to attend but you need help with your children.  Please let us know if you have childcare needs for these meetings.  Please let us know if any of your young adults that are attending would like to work with the children as serving ones.

We have tentative plans in the works.  As of this date we are scheduled to meet Saturday for Yeshiva and Business meetings.  We are praying that a Messianic Congregation in the area will help us with worship music and a place to meet on Erev Shabbat (Friday Evening) for corporate worship.  If you know of a congregation in the San Antonio, TX. area please contact me via e-mail.  We will be contacting the local SBC associations in the San Antonio area in hopes to find a congregation who will give us hospitality for Friday evening Erev Shabbat celebration.

The dates for our meetings are scheduled for June 8th, 9th & 10th, 2006.  Many of the brothers and sisters wish to attend the SBC Pastors Conference that starts Sunday evening.  We plan to have Davidic Worship Dance training on Sunday afternoon.

Now as I looked at the living beings, behold, there was one wheel on the earth beside the living beings, for each of the four of them.  The appearance of the wheels and their workmanship was like sparkling beryl, and all four of them had the same form, their appearance and workmanship being as if one wheel were within another.  Whenever they moved, they moved in any of their four directions without turning as they moved.  As for their rims they were lofty and awesome, and the rims of all four of them were full of eyes round about.  Whenever the living beings moved, the wheels moved with them. And whenever the living beings rose from the earth, the wheels rose also.   Wherever the spirit was about to go, they would go in that direction. And the wheels rose close beside them; for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels.  Whenever those went, these went; and whenever those stood still, these stood still. And whenever those rose from the earth, the wheels rose close beside them; for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels. [Ezekiel 1:15-21]

The wheels are on the move.  We need to grab hold and go along for the ride.

We are on the move.  We are speaking to two wonderful speakers.  Baruch HaShem Yeshua.  As soon as we can we will give you some information about the speakers.

We do want to thank the SBC Convention Relations Staff and the NAMB as they help us with arrangements for our meetings and supply the room for our meetings.  They have been such a blessing to us.  Please lift them up in your prayers as they work hard to make the SBC Annual Meeting and all of the associated events a wonderful experience for all who attend.

Please Pray:  We are praying that we will be sponsored by NAMB to have a booth in the Convention Center this year.  We would like to let our SBC Brothers and Sisters know who we are and how we can help them in this race we run together.  This would be a great chance for us to work with NAMB in illustrating to the SBC Brothers and Sisters, how we can help as an arm of NAMB.  We do not know if NAMB can help us with this booth.  We are in prayer with an expectation of answered prayer.

And all things you ask in prayer , believing, you will receive.  [Matthew 21:22]

We are looking forward to seeing you at the 2007 SBMF Annual Meetings.  Unless we hear the Shofar sound and a call from above, "Come up here".  Then we look forward to seeing you up there.

Baruch Ha'bah B'Shem Adonai

Blessed is He who comes in the name of the L-rd.

Come Yeshua come.

Praise and Prayer From Your President: Ric Worshill

I pray that the L-rd shines His Light on you.  I pray that He leads you to the Truth in Yeshua.  Be strong, be healthy, be safe, be found in Yeshua.

Please continue to pray for our dear brother Aslam (our NAMB rep.) and his family.  Aslam's daughter was involved in an accident in November and she was injured severely.  Please lift her up in your prayers.  Also lift the Aslam and his family up in your prayers.

Please lift up brother Bob and Tina Alberico as they have been called to lead a congregation in the St. Louis area of Illinois.

Please pray for Brian Hawkins, Adat Derech Kol Ha'Mashiach and the missions committee at Golden Acres Baptist Church where they are praying about sponsorship of Adat Derech Kol Ha'Mashiach.

Please pray for Dr. Michael Herts who is the fellowship Leader of B'nai Avraham Messianic Fellowship in Hampton, Virginia.

Please continue to lift Rav. Jay Fielding and his wife Michele, in your prayers as they continue to work a new Messianic Jewish Congregation in Marietta, GA.

Adat Shalom in Dallas, TX. (Rabbi Robin Rose) has a new web page.  Please continue to pray for this new web presence to have  a great effect on those who are seeking.

Please  continue to lift up Shalom Ministries (Pastor John Denson) as their new web presence illustrates their ministry to those who need to know.

Please keep praying for the ministry of Today With G-d.  Translators and financial support is needed to bring the message to those in nations who speak in different tongues. Also pray for our dear brother Randy Weiss as he, his family and team work to translate the programs into every language that they can.   http://www.todaywithgod.org/

Please continue to pray for our brothers and sisters who are working all over this world in missions service. Our Brothers and Sisters in the International Mission Board, the North American Mission Board and all the missionaries, all over the world.

Please continue to pray for Vice President Jay Isbell, myself and the SBMF Executive Board, as we work with Aslam Masih and the North American Mission Board, to make your SBMF more resourceful to you in your ministries.

Again Please continue to Pray:  We are praying that we will be able to be sponsored by NAMB so we can have a booth in the Convention Center this year.  We would like to let our SBC Brothers and Sisters know who we are and how we can help them in this race we run together, leading the nations and our Jewish kinsman to Yeshua.

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. [John 4:35 KJV]

Time is short.  People are perishing.

I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.  [2 Timothy 4:1-5]

Have you told someone about Yeshua?  Have you brought Light into a dark life by the Word of Life, Who is the Light of the world.

Shema Ysrael Adonai Elohaunoo, Adonai Echad

Hear Israel the L-rd our G-d, the L-rd is One

To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood — and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father —  to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.  "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, " who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." [Rev 1:5-8 NASU]

I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trumpet, saying, " Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea."  Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw   [Rev 1:10-12  NASU]

Remember it is about position.  John heard, he turned, and he saw.  To truly see you need to turn to Yeshua.  I heard - I turned - I saw - I found Salvation in the L-rd.

The L-rd is knocking at the door of your heart.  Will you let him in?

Baruch Shem K'vod Malchooto lay'olam vay'ed

Bless His Glorious Name Whose Kingdom is Forever and ever

The L-rd bless you, and watch over you; The L-rd make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you;  The L-rd lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.   [Numbers 6:24-26]
